Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Clasio.

What is Document Consciousness™?
Document Consciousness™ transforms passive files into intelligent, queryable knowledge. When you upload a document, we extract structured intelligence across six dimensions: What (core content, entities, facts), Who (people, organizations), When (dates, deadlines), Where (locations, jurisdictions), Why (purpose, obligations), and How (processes, procedures). Your documents automatically organize themselves and can answer questions about their content.
How do I sign in to Clasio?
Getting started takes less than 10 seconds. Simply click "Sign In" and choose your Google account. No passwords to create, no email verification steps, no complex forms. Clasio uses Google Sign-In, which has been verified by Google to meet their security and privacy standards.
How do I add documents to Clasio?
Four ways: (1) Upload Files from your device, (2) Upload Folders with structure preserved, (3) Snap photos with your mobile camera for receipts and paper docs, (4) Import from Google Drive. Supports PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, text files, and CSVs. Maximum 5,000 files or 25GB storage.
How does Clasio help me find information in my documents?
You shouldn't have to remember exact filenames or open five PDFs just to find your EIN. Search for "EIN" and Clasio gives you the answer directly: "Your EIN is 12-3456789" with the source document linked. Search works the way you think. Type "passport expiration" and we find your passport even if those exact words aren't in the filename.
Can I search across all my documents at once?
Yes! Every search looks across your entire document library automatically. No need to remember which folder you filed something in. Search for "Acme contract" and we'll find it whether the document says "contract," "agreement," or just has "Acme Corp" in the header. Our AI tags everything during upload.
What intelligence does Clasio extract from my documents?
When you upload a document, Clasio automatically extracts: AI-generated title (readable name instead of scan_20250108.pdf), summary (2-3 sentence overview), classification (document category and type with confidence scores), key topics (relevant subject tags), key intelligence (important facts, entities, amounts, dates), word count, and full searchable content.
Do my documents train AI models?
Never. Your documents never train any AI model. Ever. Each request is private and not retained for training. We persist only the compact intelligence outputs (summaries, topics, classifications) required for product function.
Where is my data stored and how is it protected?
Your documents live in Google Cloud Storage with enterprise-grade security: encrypted at rest and in transit, time-limited access URLs (1-hour expiry), complete user isolation, server-side credentials only, and no employee access.
How does deletion work?
When you delete a document, it moves to trash and is permanently removed after 7 days, or immediately if you empty the trash. You can also delete your entire account and all associated data from the account menu. Both the file and all metadata are permanently erased.
What AI model do you use?
We use Google Gemini 2.5 Flash (Paid Tier 3) for fast, efficient intelligence extraction. All AI calls are server-side with no client-exposed API keys.
How does Clasio pay for all this? What's the catch?
There's no catch. You are not the product. Clasio pays real infrastructure costs for every document: AI analysis, cloud storage, database, compute, and search infrastructure. We don't sell your data, show ads, or train AI on your documents.
How is Clasio different from Google's File Search API?
Google File Search is a developer API for building custom applications. Clasio is a complete ready-to-use platform with AI-powered classification, 6-dimensional intelligence extraction, specialized query resolvers, automatic document grouping, and direct answers instead of document lists. Google File Search is buying flour and eggs. Clasio is ordering a custom cake that shows up decorated and ready to serve.
How does the search system work?
Clasio uses parallel keyword and semantic search powered by 6-dimensional intelligence extracted at upload. Document discovery runs in sub-second time. For deeper questions, Ask Clasio provides verified answers by querying document content directly with Gemini, returning cited responses.
Does Clasio work on mobile?
Yes! Clasio is available as a native app on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play), and also works through your web browser. Features include photo upload from camera, search, full document intelligence, and push notifications.
How can I verify Clasio's security claims?
We encourage technical due diligence. Run these tests: data deletion cascade verification, access control testing (inspect network requests for time-limited signed URLs), encryption-in-transit verification (all traffic uses HTTPS/TLS 1.2+), multi-tenancy isolation testing, and AI model data usage audit (Gemini Paid Tier 3 guarantees no training).
What happens to my Google Drive files?
Clasio uses read-only access to download copies of files you explicitly choose. Your original Google Drive files remain completely untouched. We don't modify, delete, or sync changes back. You can disconnect Drive access anytime.
How does folder organization work?
Clasio uses AI to automatically organize documents into 11 high-level folders (Tax & Compliance, Financial & Accounting, Legal & Contracts, Insurance & Policies, Identity & Records, Medical & Health, Property & Real Estate, Corporate & Business, Operations & HR, Project & Work Management, Personal & Family) with automatic subfolders.
How much does Clasio cost?
Completely free. No credit card required. No hidden trials. No time limits. If we introduce pricing in the future, all existing users will receive advance notice and early supporter pricing.
